The Saints lost cornerback Tracy Porter for a few weeks on Sunday after spraining his MCL against the Rams in the 3rd quarter. Fellow cornerback Jabari Greer sat out Sunday as he nurses a groin injury. The same report says the team released quarterback Chase Daniels to make room on the roster.
The 32 year old McAlister was the 10th overall pick of the first round in the 1999 NFL Draft by Baltimore, and played 10 seasons with the Ravens. McAlister had bothered by knee problems the last few years and was unsigned despite interest from other teams, as he wanted to wait until the knee was healthy.
